Robyn is a senior at Baylor University, graduating in May with a degree in journalism and criminal justice. She was homeschooled most of her life but also attended private school for one year and public for three. She lives in Austin, Texas.
Sally Settle used to be young. At least a portion of that time was spent wishing to be older. The main problem with being young was the company. Although, over the years, she has found a handful of people who were born between 1958-1965 to befriend, she appreciates people of all ages. (Even 11-21!) This, of course, made the decision to home educate her children seem reasonable. Married to Tom since 1985, and home educating their 9 children beginning in 1989, Sally has discovered that the Lord is good, and she isn’t. Interestingly, as well as obviously, Sally and Tom, born of rebellious parents, have spawned rebellious children. No, it DOESN’T skip a generation. Best of all they are all still in the home. The 20-year-old has continued his education on his own, with God’s help. Two of her children are about to graduate, one is not yet “school-age,” and there is every age in between. As you can see from the preceding, the mother of a large family can derive her entire identity from the needs of her children. However, Sally (being once young, and planning to become very old, DV) is also a devoted wife, throughly committed to having fun, and even has plans to walk away from her laptop and write from the heart in illegible longhand someday.
Tara is graduating in May from Edison Community College with an associate’s degree focusing on web design and interactive media. She attended a private elementary school for five years and then homeschooled from sixth grade until graduation. She lives in West Milton, Ohio and enjoys playing the piano, reading, missions, and working with kids.

As a totally infatuated, dedicated worshipper of Mrs. Settle (nee Rawls), I am heartbroken that I, in fact, was born in 1957.

my contemporaries, I mean. And since we hung out together, Chilli Willi, that makes us comtemporaries…at least temporarily.
Tempus Fugit. (I hope that doesn’t get you in trouble at work, hee, hee)

I am very interested in being involved with this blog. I started homeschooling in 7th grade and continued till I graduated last in May of 2006. My dream is to be an author. Although I write mostly fiction, I have written several essays on homeschooling. I would love to join this writting team. If you would be interested, just send me an email at purple_tweety5@yahoo.com.
